Ivory Coast conquered the historic first ever AfroBasket U16 title. They overcame Cameroon in the title game in Kigali tonight. Ivory Coast eked out a 15-12 lead after ten minutes. Cameroon cut the deficit at 2-point mark at the big break 23-21. But Ivory Coast held their opponents to 9 points in the third term to stretch the gap at 8 points. They sank 24 points in the fourth period and raced to the historic success. Minty Oka stepped up with 18 points, while Irene Ouedraogo added 10 points and 20 rebounds for Ivory Coast. Nolan Ngangmeni answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds for Cameroon. Olivier Ngoumou had 11 points and 11 caroms in the loss.
